Volvo S40 Petrol 1.8 1999 Green 58K Miles! in Belvedere, Greater London for sale
I bought this car off a family relative to use as my work horse, as my normal car uses too much fuel. However, I never really stopped driving my normal car, and the insurance on the S40 was nearly the same for me as the normal car is. So I don't see the point in keeping it. The car is now sitting in the car park (residential), not been used since last summer. I do start it up often and allow the engine to warm up, and have never encountered a problem. Since owning it, I replaced the lock mechanism on the boot as it had failed and was stuck shut, replaced the hazard warning light switch as this had obtained a fault and stopped the indicators working correctly and replaced a headlight as the previous one had a broken reflector. I put the car in for an MOT and it failed on the headlight only. I have since replaced the headlight, but not put it through an MOT. The car is declared SORN. It does not have any road tax. This is because of the new law, which requires a taxed car to be insured. As I haven't been using it, it hasn't been insured, so by law I couldn't renew the tax on it. Bit of a pointless law in my opinion. The car is in great shape for its age. It starts first time, and sounds perfectly healthy. It pulls as you would expect and all electronics work. The car has: Remote central locking with alarm Electric mirrors (Heated and adjustable) Power steering ABS Air conditioning (Very cold) Radio/CD player On board computer (For Mpg and temperatures etc...) Roof Rack The paintwork has been damaged from cleaning swirl marks from the previous owner. These marks can be almost being completely removed with a bit of polish and elbow grease.
